Ravello, where you can enjoy a light lunch in a small traditional restaurant, followed by a stroll around the magnificent grounds of Villa Rufolo. Back to present day and continue along to the magnificent Amalfi Coast, a full tour of the Coast with free time to visit the famous towns such as Ravello, where you can enjoy a light lunch in a small traditional restaurant, and then take a stroll around the magnificent grounds of Villa Rufolo, Amalfi to admire the stunning cathedral of St. Andrew, and last but not least the picture-perfect town of Positano, with time to do some shopping and sight-seeing. We will take you right to the main square of Positano, inaccessible to coaches and local bus. There are lots of photo opportunities along the way, so you will return to your cruiseliner full of great pictures and wonderful memories.
SHORE EX NA03 - Herculaneum, Pompeii and Vesuvius – 9hrs
Why don’ visit two of the most important archeological site of the Neapolitan Riviera? They are both very different. Pompeii was totally destroyed, but is the larger of the two towns and was the main commercial area. During your time in Pompeii amongst many other things you can see the ruts made by the wheels of the Roman chariots, remains of villas once belonging to rich Roman merchants, temples, the market place, shops and bars all dating back to 79A.D. Herculaneum was wonderfully preserved by a landslide of liquid mud, creating a splendid chance to see two storey Roman villas, beautiful mosaics, frescoes, pieces of carbonized furniture and other objects used by ancient Romans. Then travel to the crater of the destroyer - Vesuvius - The 1,281 meters summit of Vesuvius, can be reached after a 30 minute walk. Views into the crater, over Naples, and on the far end, over to Pompeii are breathtaking. This excursion involves a lot of walking so good shoes advised. Running shoes / trainers / sneakers / sturdy sandals are fine.
SHORE EX NA04 - Pompeii, Positano and Sorrento - 9 hours
Your driver will meet you of the gangway and escort you to your vehicle, from where he will introduce himself and explain the itinerary of the day, driving on to your first stop - Pompeii archaeological site he will happily point out all places of interest on the way, once in Pompeii you will have approx. 2 hours inside the site, with a local guide (recommended for full appreciation of site) step back in time and be amazed as you walk the streets of a Roman city destroyed 2000 years ago. Back to present day continuing on to the start of the amazing Amalfi Coast, photo opportunities along the way, then a stop in the beautiful town of Positano with free time to wander the traffic free lanes filled with shops and cafe bars, optional stop at a ceramic factory to pick up some great local crafts then on to the bustling town of Sorrento, once again free time to shop or just sit in the main square soaking up Italian life before being transferred back to the ship before departure.
